PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

NYC’s buses and subway are serviced by the Metropolitan Transit Authority or MTA.

The Garden House is located on a 10-15 minute bus ride from the Parkchester-E 177th St. station on the 6 line (Green line). Parkchester station to Grand Central- 42nd St. is a 35-45 min. train ride. It will take you approximately 1 hour to get to Grand Central Station (42nd Street & Lexington – Eastside). If you want to go to points further downtown or the west side, your commute will be slightly longer. However, if you are going to points further uptown, your commute will be less than an hour first example: Harlem, Central Park North or Metropolitan Museum of Art and Guggenheim Museum.

Getting there by public transportation:

1. Take the 6 train UPTOWN to the Bronx. The last stop is Pelham Bay.
2. You will exit at Parkchester – E 177th St.
3. Exit to the left after the turn styles
4. Walk towards White Plains Road.                                                                  Look for a BP gas station ( Bx39 bus stop will be in front)
5. Take Bx39 heading towards Clason Point.
6. Get off on the corner of White Plains Rd and Patterson Avenue. (it will be about 5 blocks from The Shops at Bruckner Commons)
7. Walk a few more steps the same direction that the bus was going on.
8. House should be on the same block on the right.

NYC FERRY

Ferry to Manhattan is only a 5-minute bus ride (BX 39 bus) from the Garden House! A new edition of NYC’s expanding ferry service, the new Soundview line began operating Summer 2018. Travel by ferry to Wall Street (Old New York and the Financial District, including the location of 9/11 Memorial and One World Trade) in 45-minutes all while enjoying a scenic ride down NYC’s East River.  You can transfer to other Ferries (within 90-minutes of using your ferry ticket) that go to neighborhoods throughout QUEENS and BROOKLYN, all from our neighborhood!

DRIVING

FROM JFK (John F. Kennedy International Airport):
If you’re coming from JFK you should take the Van Wyke Expressway all the way to the Whitestone Bridge where you will take the Bruckner Expressway (I-278) toward Manhattan/Triboro/RFK Bridge. You’ll exit on White Plains Rd. (Exit 53)and take a left. (If you cross the Bruckner overpass, you’re going the right direction). From there it’s just a 5-minute drive down White Plains. The house is located on White Plains Rd. between Patterson Ave. and O’Brien Ave on the right side. You will see a small burgundy leafed tree in from a light colored brick crick fence with white lions. The house has a pond with fish in the front.

FROM LGA (Fiorello H. Laguardia Airport):
From Laguardia Airport you can also go EAST on the Grand Central Parkway toward the Whitestone Bridge and do the same route as above from the Whitestone. OR. You can go WEST on Grand Central Parkway toward Manhattan and cross the Triboro Bridge (now renamed RFK Bridge) and once you cross it, go to the left side where you will exit to the Bronx. Follow the route to the Bruckner Expressway. From here, I highly recommend that you exit at the Bronx River Expressway, Exit 52 you’ll continue alongside the Bruckner Expressway (on your left) on the other side of a divider. DO NOT get on the Bronx River Parkway North Exit, but instead, continue past it until you get onto the diagonal street: Soundview Ave. where you will take a right (1.5 blocks from Bronx River Parkway exit). This street goes down to our neighborhood, Clason Point diagonally on Soundview Ave. Once you get to Patterson Ave. (you will see San Andres Presbyterian Church and a small triangular plaza called ‘Woodrow Wilson Triangle” (both on the right) take a left at the light. On White Plains Rd. next main block, take a right and the house will be on the right-hand side (#321).

OR

Instead of getting out in Exit 52 you can continue on the Bruckner Expressway to the following exit (Exit 53), which is White Plains Rd. and take a right this time on White Plains Rd. and continue down on White Plains Rd. until you get to 321 White Plains Rd (b/w Patterson and O’Brien).

FROM NEW JERSEY (ALL POINTS SOUTH & WEST OF HUDSON RIVER)

Take I-95 North all the way to the George Washington Bridge to the Cross Bronx Expressway (I-95 N). Exit on White Plains Road (Exit 5A). Take a right at the exit onto White Plains Road. Drive down White Plains for 5-10 minute drive to the house on 321 White Plains Road.

FROM CONNECTICUT (ALL POINTS NORTH & EAST OF THE HUDSON RIVER)

Take I-95 South or the Hutchinson Parkway to the Bruckner Expressway (I-278) and take Exit 53. Take a LEFT onto White Plains Road and continue to pass the Shops at Bruckner Common to the house on 321 White Plains.

OR

Take the Bronx River Parkway to Exit 2E (Story Ave.) and take a LEFT onto Story Ave. Continue for 4 blocks until you see a Rite Aid Store on the left and take a RIGHT onto Soundview Ave. This street goes down to our neighborhood, Clason Point diagonally on Soundview Ave. Once you get to Patterson Ave. (you will see San Andres Presbyterian Church and a small triangular plaza called ‘Woodrow Wilson Triangle” (both on the right) take a left at the light. On White Plains Rd. next main block, take a right and the house will be on the right-hand side (#321).
